About
ForElvin is a dressmaking atelier, offering bespoke clothing designs, alterations, and repairs with a focus on sustainability. Your invited to experience a personalised fitting in my homely and relaxing studio, where your comfort is priority.
I am your dressmaker and my name is Hannah Svedberg. I started sewing at a young age being inspired by my mom and grandmothers. I worked as an apprentice for a wedding designer where I learn the art of dress- and patten making. I moved on to working in the fashion industry for over 15 years as a designer for red carpet and luxury brands. I designed and worked on clothes that have been worn by Mick Jagger, Nicole Kidman, Elizabeth Hurley and Kim Sears among others. However, after working as a designer I wanted to go back to working with my hands, creating something that helped the planet rather than stay in a world where overproducing is inevitable to meet a demand that is unsustainable.
In 2022 ForElvin was born. The name taken from my grandmother Elvin, to honour her memory, but also to keep the thought of repurpose and nodding to the heritage we should take on when creating clothes, to go back to day of dressmaking. Since started ForElvin, I have made alterations and bespoke designs for Jenna Coleman, Stef Williams, Martha Ward and Nassia Matsa, as well as a lot of local Clapham and South West London and London residents.
I am passionate about crafting unique pieces that reflect your individual style and personality, ensuring you will treasure these and maybe one day hand them over to someone else to be loved.
